We are mainly using the wheelchair to help him rehabilitate his hind legs and for support while he is outside. He has a hump in his back where the injury occurred, so the wheelchair provides added support and peace of mind for us while he is wandering around. It also helps keep him positioned so he is using his leg muscles more and has better posture while he’s walking. (He doesn’t look so hunched up.) He has adjusted to it just fine and can get around fairly well on the gravel and in the grass.
Buster is back to his old self with wanting to play with our other dachshund and his tail wags all the time now.
